Wedding Day Transportation Planning: A Guide for Delaware Beach Weddings
Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. Family and friends are traveling from near and far to celebrate with you, and there is so much to plan before the big day. Transportation is the piece that quietly holds the schedule together, and after hundreds of thousands of wedding trips across southern Delaware since 1992, we can tell you it rewards a little early planning.
Here is how we walk every couple (or their wedding planner) through it.
Start with three details
Everything in your transportation plan flows from three things: the start and end times and locations of your ceremony and reception, the number of people who need a ride, and any special travel needs. Bring those to your first conversation with us and we will go to work to craft your customized transportation program. We have decades of working relationships with the major wedding venues and hotels in southern Delaware, so chances are we already know your venue’s drop-off points, boarding quirks and timing.
Wedding party transportation
A wedding is not a wedding without the couple and their closest friends and family. A few questions settle the wedding party plan:
- Will the bridal party and groomsmen travel together, or is arriving separately the better choice?
- Do the girls need to be at the venue early for hair and makeup, or is arriving just before the ceremony more your style?
- Will you need transport for photos at a memorable location, either a first look before the ceremony or a celebration stop afterward?
These details keep your day on schedule while creating the memories that last: many couples arrive in one of our iconic classic trolleys and leave the reception in a private black car send-off.
Wedding guest transportation
For weddings large or small, decide early how guests will get to the ceremony and reception:
- How many guests will need transportation?
- Are most local, or coming from out of town?

Matching vehicles to your day
With our fleet, one transit partner covers every move of the day for groups from 1 to 250 passengers: trolleys for the wow factor, buses in several sizes for guest shuttles, and black cars for VIPs and send-offs. Mixing vehicles is normal; most weddings we serve use two or three types across the day.
A simple planning timeline
- 6 to 12 months out: reserve your date, especially for spring and fall Saturdays at the beach.
- 2 to 4 months out: finalize the schedule, pickup points and guest counts with our team.
- Week of: we confirm every run with you or your planner, then it is off your plate.
